title: "pols mcp"
description: "Serve the pols tools to an AI agent over MCP (stdio)"
---

<!-- Generated by scripts/reference.mjs from the pols CLI's --help. Do not edit; run `npm run reference:sync`. -->

Run an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server on stdin and stdout, so that Claude
Code and other agents can create, stop, resume, fork and delete sandboxes, run
commands, and read and write files. It uses the same API key
and URL as the other commands (`pols login`, or POLS\_API\_KEY and POLS\_API\_URL).
Agents start it themselves; you do not run it by hand.

## Usage

```text
pols mcp [flags]
```

## Examples

```sh
claude mcp add --scope user pols -- pols mcp
```

## Flags

```text
-h, --help   help for mcp
```

The [global flags](/reference/cli/#global-flags) work with this command too.
